ABOUT US
DAHHAR, a registered Non-Governmental Organization under the West Bengal Societies Registration Act, 1961, has been working with communities in the Dooars, a tea plantation region, particularly in the areas of education, community development, and livelihood.
Earlier, we identified ourselves as Prayatn, an Adivasi youth collective. We registered as DAHHAR, to further strengthen our mission. We continue to work with youth and communities to foster education across diverse domains in India. So far, we have supported over 200 students in gaining admission to some of India’s premier universities. We remain committed to expanding our network and creating broader educational pathways for the future.
Our Mission
Our mission is to support underprivileged communities through education, cultural preservation, health, and sustainable livelihoods. We aim to foster social and economic progress, promote environmental sustainability, preserve indigenous traditions, and strengthen community-driven development, capacity-building, and partnerships.
